Layout model

I chose this for my layout model because my infographic will have distinct components that don't have much overlap.  Thus, the segmentation makes it easy to keep things seperate via subtle dividers.  Additionally, many sections have headings, which works well because I'd like each section to visually answer a question a student may have about ASUW.  Within each section, components are all aligned in a way that looks neat and tidy.  Overall, this layout brings harmony to a variety of components that are in different formats.

I chose this infographic as my typography model because I feel the two type-faces emulate the two sides to ASUW.  On one hand, there is a bolder, more serious aspect to ASUW that emulates the strong advocacy work the association does.  On the other hand, there is a more colloquial and inviting hand-writing like type that captures the fun, student-centric, friendly atmosphere of the association.  I also chose this as my BASE MODEL because I like the simplicity and am planning on using grey as a my background anyways.

I chose this color model because I'd like to adhere to traditional University of Washington colors, the same way that this graphic adheres to traditional Lakers colors, to trigger an immediate association. I also like that the grey background makes the boldness of the purple and yellow less harsh. I will however modify these colors slightly, to match the guidelines on the UW Marketing page.
