Numbers
Budget information lends itself well to numeric displays. To show a proportional breakdown of this past year's budget I utilized a pie chart and to convey the differences in the budget this past year versus 10 years ago, I used a side-by-side bar chart comparision.
Locations
ASUW quite literally impacts every corner of campus. In order to convey this, I created a location display to show its physical impacts and presence all over campus.
Appearance
The ASUW Senate is a body that operates via Robert's Rules of Order, a parliamentary procedure model. The gavel is an icon of any legalistic proceeding, and symbolizes strength and order.
Relationships
While many representations of the ASUW internal structure take a top-down approach that is useful internally, these are rarely useful externally. This display breaks down ASUW in a way that is relevant to a student seeking to get involved.
Time
This year, even moreso than in previous years, the senate has considered a plethora of legislation of increasing relevance as the session has progressed. This timeline makes this trend apparent.
Layout
The layout of this graphic begins at the foundation of what ASUW is, presenting its brief history, budget and mission, then diving its tangible progress and impacts, concluding with how a student who was interested by this information can get involved with the association. This is displayed in this order via a left to right continuum.
